Some More Coloured Raine Lippies: Sugar and Pink Panther!

Hiya everybody! Back with a quick post, nothing major. Just some lippies from my favorite brand: Coloured Raine. Woot woot. The two colors I got are Sugar and Pink Panther. Pink Panther is a neon hot pink. It reminds me a lot of OCC Makeup Anime.

L to R: Sugar, Pink Panther

Sugar on the other hand, is a peachy pink nude. Its a tyrone biggums lip y'all! But I love these pale lippies with a little brown liner. It looks so sultry to me. Both of these colors are like pow, in your face, take this.

L to R: Sugar, Pink Panther

One thing I want to note is that each time I get lipsticks from Coloured Raine, they come in different packaging. As you can see, sugar has a smaller, fatter applicator than Pink Panther, which is longer and thinner. They both apply the product fine, but I do like the smaller applicator better. I also prefer the simple packaging.

Swatches:
Comparison Swatches Left to Right: Sugar, Kat Von D Ophelia, Pink Panther, Jeffree Star Watermelon Soda. I didn't swatch sugar because it looked a hot mess and I didn't feel like going to get brown liner...my bad.

f*ck Trump Lipstick: A Middle Finger to the Current Sociopolitical Landscape

Do Good. Be Bold. The Lipslut website is truly inspiring. If you haven't heard of Lipslut, it is a fairly new brand of cosmetics that is dedicating their creativity to take a stand against the ills of society. Their signature lipstick, f*ck Trump, tickled me so when I first saw it on Instagram and I made it my business to support this brand. Shoot...they were supporting me in so many ways. A portion of all the proceeds from their sales go directly to charity, and I felt more than honored to support a company that actually cares about people, not just our money.

P.S. I hear that they have a second lipstick dropping in a couple weeks called f*ck Hollywood. Go get it guys!

This came directly from the Lipslut website and I think it's just amazing because they are doing their part in trying to make this world a better place. Cheesy... yes I know. Making the world a better place is the typical pageant girl goal, but you know what? I feel the sentiment with a passion.
"What if companies prided themselves on pushing to improve society?
Lipslut is fashion, subversion, and a middle finger to the current sociopolitical landscape. By working hard towards solving the issues you care about, Lipslut is ready to help you make a statement.
Join Lipslut on our path to changing the world one face at a time."

So beyond what they stand for (because I clearly think they're the bomb) what do I think about the lipstick?

The Lipslut website describes f*ck Trump as a mid-tone nude pink and it's very wearable. I find I like it better with a brown lip liner (I don't need to have one, just like to have one) but its just because of my deep skin tone. It helps it to transition a little better. Comfortability is fine as well. It's not the most comfortable matte liquid lipstick that I have and its not the most uncomfortable. It's honestly somewhere in the middle. I find that it goes on very thick and opaque and I think it fares better with lip balm underneath. But I also put lip balm under all my matte lips because I was just born with dry lips and the crustiness gets real. If your lips are soft then you'll be fine without balm. But me...I gets my Napolean Dynamite on.

Here's what the lip color looks like on me and I am a NW45-47 in MAC foundation for reference:

I also really like the simplistic look of the lipstick. It's pretty in my opinion. Sometimes I feel like companies do too much with packaging and design but Lipslut really made a great product all around.  Do you see Trump with the pink lipstick on? HAHAHA I LOVE IT.

Also wanted to give you guys a little comparison because I know thats pretty much important to. Shows that the color is unique:

Top left to Bottom Right: f*ck Trump, Lime Crime Teddy Bear, Lime Crime Riot, and Sugarpill Trinket

Overall verdict?

8/10. I've had this lipstick for some time. I have worn it for hours on end and I like it. I like the color, and I like the longevity. The packaging wasn't bad either, I honestly didn't want to throw the exterior packaging away because it was so cool. I truly feel empowered wearing this lipstick. My views on Donald Trump will most likely continue to be pessimistic. I think he is a horrible individual, but I do respect him as the President of our United States. I wish him well because our lives are heavily impacted by his decisions, but for now...I'll let the lipstick speak for me regarding how I feel about his shenanigans.

Urban Decay Electric Palette & Mac Divine Divine Lipstick (HATED IT)

Hey hey! So I have been loving bright eye shadow looks lately, thanks to JKissa Makeup on YouTube! A while back I purchased the Urban Decay Electric Palette because it was on sale at Nordstrom's. It may still be available but it's definitely been discontinued at Sephora and Ulta. Back then I just got it because it was on sale and I never used it...but now I totally am ready to.

Savage and Fringe

Revolt and Gonzo

Urban and Freak

Chaos and Jilted

Freak and Thrash

These shadows are so bright and pigmented like I just cannot wait to wear them. As a matter of fact, me and revolt may have a date tomorrow. I'm envisioning a little brown in the crease and a light wash of sparkly silver all over the eye. If I do, I will definitely get pictures. Maybe a little winged liner...yas sis, yas.

Now to the second portion of the post, this color is horrible guys. Please if you are brown, do not do this to yourself, unless you are equipped with lip liner, lip balm, and a plan, because this color looks like pepto bismol when worn alone on the lips and its texture is quite similar to pepto bismol as well. Mac almost got a curse out with this, but liner saved me from having to use the bad words. Plus this was free so I can't complain too much...

I had to do the most to get this color to look semi decent. I like the look of the hot pink ombre'd with divine divine but I also think it would need a deeper liner, maybe something like a beet or vino in the real world because its a little too stark on my complexion. The brown looked a whole lot better in person but is kinda lack luster on camera...so I guess its a toss up depending upon what you want.

Lip of the Day #LOTD: MAC Young Attitude. Mac Done Made Teal Lips Wearable!!

Yes! I got a new camera. Solely because I am trying to take this blog and my IG swatches to the next level. And the only way to do that is with quality photographs. The cam isn't fancy or super expensive (because your girl is on a budget), but its definitely better than my smartphone camera. So, I thought I would test it out with a little lip of the day with this very edgy MAC Young Attitude.

What do you think? Much better than my older photo's I hope. I still have to learn how to best use it for recording video, but I really like the way my pictures have been coming out. My skin looks popping, my lighting looks good, I feel popping. What more can a girl ask for?

Young Attitude is bomb. MAC done made teal wearable y'all.  I love it and wear it whenever I want to feel like a Rockstar. I wear it when I want to irritate conservatives...I just wear it.

LIP OF THE DAY: Pretty Zombie Cosmetics Midnight

I am a fanatic of color. And blue has always been one of my faves. For a long time, I was on the hunt for the perfect deep blue. I tried Kat Von D Echo, I tried her Poe lipstick, I even tried a couple drug store deep blues...but they were just BLAHHH.
Then, I saw Jeffree Star Cosmetics Abused and I fell in love. But it was never in stock! That was some time ago, and though I have it now, I'm really iffy about supporting Mr. Starr because of all his shenanigans (see my previous blog post on Jeffree Star Cosmetics), so I rarely wear it (can't bare to part with it). I opted to find a dupe, and though it isn't exact, I still really like the color, a beautiful navy blue from the lovely Pretty Zombie Cosmetics in the shade Midnight.

Now the flash is taking away from the deepness of the color, but you can see that the lipstick is a deep pure blue; no purple undertones, just plain old blue. Here is Midnight compared to Abused as well as Pretty Zombie Cosmetics Transylvania, and Anastasia Beverly Hills Potion. I wanted to compare it to some of the colors that people often claim are dupes. As you can see, Midnight is in a class of its own. The Jeffree Star abused is still my favorite blue, but it could almost pass as purple. What do you think? Are you loving Midnight as much as I am?

Letting My Soul Glow in Coloured Raine, My Favorite Liquid Lipstick Brand!

I have and wear a lot of lipsticks. I also tend to claim a lot of things are my favorites...all the time. Howevereeeddddd, Coloured Raine is hands down my absolute favorite liquid lipstick brand and the formula is BOMB. I used to think sugar pill cosmetics liquid lipstick formula was my favorite and I think its quite close, but Coloured Raine trumps Sugarpill as a brand in terms of liquid lipstick (in my opinion) because they have a greater variety of colors. I think Sugar pill has 2 or 3 colors while Coloured Raine has like 20...shoot maybe even more.
Top to Bottom: Coloured Raine Soul, Coloured Raine Marshmallow
Left to Right: Coloured Raine Soul, Coloured Raine Marshmallow
Now, I probably have about 6 of these. But I chose to feature these 2 today because I'm just in a taupey, griege mood and these colors fit that category perfectly. They look a lot alike but Marshmallow is clearly lighter.

The formula on these two lipsticks in particular are so comfortable that I tend to forget I have them on for the first couple hours. At about the 5 hour mark they start to feel a little drier but they stay looking nice all day. Unless you eat something greasy, they stay put. If I could compare them to anything it would probably be a mix between Anastasia Beverly Hills and Limecrime. They aren't as creamy as the ABH or as liquidy as Limecrime but somewhere in between.
Soul on my lips with Jordana Coffee Bean Eye Liner
I cannot recommend this brand enough. And they're black owned which bumps them up a few notches in my book. Call me bias but I'm here for my people doing big tings. So go and get you some. They have a red in cherry blossom that IS TO CRY FOR (NOTHING IS WORTH DYING FOR IN MY BOOK)! Try them out. And Coloured Raine if you ever see this, send me some lippies y'all... wink wink! Bye now!

When The Color is Nice, But the Formula is Butt: Kat Von D Echo Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

I just want to start out by saying that I am normally very pleased with Kat Von D's liquid lipstick formula...however, I went through hell to get this particular color to work. It was patchy, I had to put on multiple layers, and if my lips even went as far as to gently pat each other during the drying process...the color would lift from one part of my lip and transfer to another...leaving a hot mess of patchwork behind.

Now what I will say is that blue lipsticks are often hard for companies to pull of...and I was able to make it work, but for $21 I am disappointed.

Its really a shame about the patchiness of this lipstick. I mean lmbo, imma wear it. I am definitely going to wear it. But Kat Von D needs to reformulate this.

Now the color is a little deeper than what my pictures show because I use flash photography. Echo is like a navy blue with very slight purple undertones. Like a liquid matte version of Mac Royal from Mac Cosmetics.

I don't know. I guess I can give her a 6. Just cause she's cute? But no boo boo. I shouldn't have to spend 15 minutes trying to get a lipstick to work. Do you sense the ambivalence? Ugh, the escapades of a lipstick junkie.
Till next time. Peace Out

Lippie Looks Weekly Edition

Okay, so I haven't been posting. I feel terrible, but the passion just isn't here at the moment. Working on it though! I at least tried to get a couple pictures of my lip looks for the week. I probably won't feel really good about blogging until I get a decent camera...but thats a whole other story!

Guess it'd be best to do this by day. So here it goes.

Monday: Mac Esspresso Liquid Lipstick...Cute right? I was all about the taupey vibes this day.

Tuesday: Mac Young Attitude Liquid Lipstick. It was my day off from Practicum and I was feeling a little bad and bougie. Don't mind the wrinkled hijab...I just didn't have it in me to iron.

Wednesday: It was all about red so I wore Coloured Raine Cherry Blossom Lipstick to match my outfit for the day. Love a red lip with winged liner!

Thursday: I went with red again. This time it was Stila's Fiery. My second favorite red after Cherry Blossom

Friday: I ombre'd Sugarpill Trinket Lipstick with Kat Von D Roxy Everlasting Liquid Lipstick. I legit felt like a powerpuff girl!
 With Flash:

I loved every single look this week. So much for not being motivated to blog...
Enjoy.

Yummy Pinky Goodness: Jeffree Star Cosmetics Dreamhouse & Queen Supreme (When Lipstick Comes Through in the Clutch)

I've had to tell myself this several times this week... But you know what I believe it. Life gets tough. You get overwhelmed. But...
