Lonely Planet NY Doll Liquid Lipstick

Chello lovely people. Today I bring you a gorgeous burgundy/oxblood metallic liquid lipstick from Lonely Planet. Its called NY Doll and I have honestly fallen in love with it. I had no idea that Lonely Planets liquid lipsticks were so comfortable, now they aren't as long lasting as many of the liquid lipsticks that I have tried, but it is so comfortable that I do not mind reapplying. I also purchased a buffing gem aka a sillisponge to test out and they sent me that cute little iron on patch which I was so grateful for...its always nice to receive something a little extra in your package!

But here are swatches:

This lippie has a red sparkle that makes it really appealing. It can look almost brown in some lighting but it truly is a nice oxblood sort of color. If I were to compare it to anything I would probably compare it to Sugarpill's Strange Love from their limited edition Feline Fancy collection. NY Doll is permanent so if you missed out on Strange Love or didn't want to purchase the entire collection; because the lipstick was not sold separately, check NY Doll out. I've worn this 3 times in the last two weeks and for me (a person who wears a different lip color every day) that says a lot.

Quick LOTD: Too Faced Melted Metallic Dream House

Too Faced liquid lipsticks are nothing new. They're packaging is pretty and they come in a variety of colors. But for some odd reason, I walked past these lipsticks in Sephora and Ulta for years despite the girly packaging with not the least bit of curiosity. This has been the case for years until I recently saw a couple on sale inside of TJ Maxx for 6.99 and thought hey, it definitely can't hurt. So, I settled on a pink color and ran out the door (I didn't want to see anything else...TJ Maxx is a dangerous place for shopaholics). And I have to say, although these are nothing like the typical matte liquid lipsticks, I did like the color and long lasting wear.

This is what the color looks like on my skintone. Dreamhouse is a fuschia, somewhat magenta like pink with an iridescent sheen. It's quite pretty and I don't have to line it, which is a plus. Although I like it I don't think I would buy another because it builds up on the inner rim of my lips but it definitely is cute. What do you guys think? Have you tried any of these and if so how do you combat the build up?

Till next time- S.C.

LOTD: Stila Baci

Stila Baci was an impulse buy. I wanted Lime Crime Cashmere but didn't want to wait for the lipstick to ship...I guess I'm rather impatient. I saw somewhere online that Stila Baci was a good alternative for Cashmere so I bought it. However, I'm not sure if they are exact dupes, and Stila's Liquid Lipsticks are pretty pricey. At $24 a pop I thought...hmmm this lipstick better plump my lips and never get crusty. I swatched it at Ulta and thought it was rather pale but figured I could make it work. Needless to say, I've had this lipstick for over a year and still don't know how to wear it!

Stila's liquid lipstick formula is different. It's creamy almost to a default. So I normally have to put this on with a lip brush or it applies too heavily. And because this formula is so creamy, if I put it on too heavily, it gathers up in the corners of my mouth and looks rather nasty. Hmm...how can I describe this color? It's definitely griege but if I put it on too heavy it looks pink. I would say it's a griege with a pink undertone. I have to line it. I normally use MAC Chestnut lip liner. And you know what? I think after a year the color is growing on me. In reality, I'm a bit too deep in complexion for these kinds of colors but I always want them despite knowing full and darn well that they are going to make my lips look ashy! AND I STILL WANT LIME CRIME CASHMERE lol!

Till Next Time,

LOTD: Lime Crime Pumpkin and Coloured Raine Fame

Chello my lovelies. It's really late... But I was so happy with my lip look today that I just had to post about it. Earlier (this morning actually) I decided that I wanted to wear something metallic and purty, so on a whim I mixed these two beauties together and they made magic. I always feel like my metallic Coloured Raine lippies are kinda patchy. But, they seem to layer perfectly on top of the Lime Crime Velvetines (at least this has been my experience) and I also find that layering them prolongs both of their wear times dramatically. By mixing Pumpkin, which is a brick orange and Fame, which is a bronze I came up with this cute copper orange look that I am sure had all of the grandma's jealous.

Isn't this combo just adorable? I lined my lips lightly with my beloved Jordana Coco Loco lip liner and this baby lasted through lemonade, short rib brisket, and cookies & ice cream. Wear time had to be about 8 hours even with eating enough food for two men (I guess I should be ashamed but I'm not)! I really like how this lip mix came together and can't wait to try another color mix. Till next time though Salams and Sayonara!
